We are pleased to announce that the Boil Water Notice has been lifted.

The water samples collected following the water main repair have all tested clean, and, with the guidance and approval of the Maine Drinking Water Program, the boil water notice is now officially lifted.

Normal use of your water may resume immediately for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, and all other household purposes.

Brown or Discolored Water:  Some members may still notice temporary brown or discolored water as a result of the recent water main repair. This is caused by naturally occurring minerals being stirred up in the water mains and is not uncommon after this type of work. If you experience discoloration, run your cold water for several minutes until it clears before doing laundry or using hot water.

We sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and cooperation throughout this repair and precautionary boil water notice. We would also like to thank our Public Works crew, the laboratory staff, and the Maine Drinking Water Program for their assistance in ensuring the safety of our community’s drinking water.
